The penguin nesting grounds of Punta Tombo thrive from September to March, hosting nearly two million Magellan penguins. Beginning in November, visitors can actually see baby penguins first leaving their nests.

While in Punta Tombo, you can explore the nesting grounds and get up close to these amazing creatures. Punta Tombo is 100 miles south of Puerto Madryn, but the experience is worth the five hours of round trip travel. You won't want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime penguin experience.

Special Instructions
Comfortable lightweight seasonal clothing and sturdy non-slip walking shoes are recommended. Guests should bring sunscreen and a hat. A light sweater may be needed for the winter months in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles.
 
Restrictions
Participants must be able to get in and out of the vehicle. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. This tour travels over some unpaved roads.
